Other educational activities

The following meetings school teachers with the purpose of establishing a new educational environment network at European level were organized in France and Italy:

• A 3 days long workshop on education on environmental risks held at the International Center of Valbonne, Sophia Antipolis on May 9-11, 2006.
• A meeting at Napoli, Città della Scienza, with teachers from Italian schools (April 2006).
• A workshop in the French Caribbean Islands in February 2006.

The main results of this activity were:

• The formation of a new seismological network in Guadaloupe, including 30 teachers and 4 schools.
• The project of extension of seismological network in schools at Napoli and in Martinique to be carried out in 2007.
• New projects for education on natural risks to be implemented in Portugal, Turkey, Indian Ocean and Venezuela.

Furthermore the activity developed in the frame of NaRAs project was presented at:

• UNESCO (Paris, 2006).
• GIFT (General Information for Teachers) session of the European Geoscience Union in Wien (April 2006).
