1974: Civil Engineering graduate; 1976: Research grant. 1980:
Assistant Professor. 1985: Associate Professor. 1988: Member
of the Council of Professors in the PhD in Geotechnical Engineering,
University of Rome. 1994 Full Professor. 1995: Coordinator of
PIC (Erasmus project) includine the Universities of Naples,
Rome, Barcelona, Glasgow and Lyon. 1996 and 2004: Chairman of
the Council of Professors in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
1999: member of the Board of the Italian Geotechnical Association.
2003: member of the Academic Council of the Advanced School
and Study Center of the Umbria Region for Maintenance and Conservation
of Historic Centres in Unstable Lands. Also: member of competion
commissions for PhD and for professor appointments in Italy
and abroad; of national and international technical committees;
of scientific committees of national and international conferences,
of the Rivista Italiana di Geotecnica and of the journal Landslides
(Springer); general reporter in national and international conferences;

Advisor of the National Department of Civil Protection. Advisor
of the team of the National Research Council which managed the
catastrophic 1998 landslide events. Advisor of the Campania
